the market in La Bastille and skating in Paris

IMG_9222.jpgUpdate: long-awaited gallery is here!

In last post I made some mentions about the open-air market in “place de la Bastille”. Unfortunately I do not think that I had any picture showing this market. This is going to change now. About the delicious strawberries I already talked so I will not insist on that.

Also on Sunday just I was strongly considering the benefits of talking my rollerblades in my next trip I stumbled upon a pretty big event. With the ocasion of the “Red Cross Day” some of Paris skaters met to do a march (on skates, of course).

It was pretty well organized – the traffic was closed, there were police officers with them (also on rollerblades) and people really showed up in pretty big numbers. The march started right in Place de la Bastille (where I was passing through) and went along la Seine. I couldn’t follow them fast enough, so while I took picters at the start I do not know what happened on the march. It really seemed like a nice social event.

So, enjoy the pictures. I will have to write / post smaller batches of photos as the Internet connection is really appalling here. Probably the firewall is blocking Picasa access so the photo upload (and also Skype) is an exercise in frustration. It seems I was able only to upload 3 pictures…sorry about this. I am trying to solve this problem.

Update: once at home in Bucharest I am back in business so to speak. So enjoy the long-promised gallery of photos.
