My current camera is a Canon 550D – it’s a very nice body, low-priced, great color and resolution, a great tool. Compared with my old 400D, it’s a significant improvement. Compared to my old 300D (first DSLR) it’s in a different league. So, even if I toyed with the idea of a Panasonic GF1 for some time, I am extremely happy with the 550D.
And then Sony came and ruined my day. Ruined in the sense that I am entertaining the idea not only to buy a second DSLR this year (a big no-no in my book) but actually jumping systems. Sony A55 SLT is a game-changing camera. In-body stabilization + GPS + phase-detect AF + articulated screen equal an amazingly sweet package. An to add even more appeal to the package Sony released a 35mm/f1.8 and an 85mm/f2.8 at some very sweet pricing.
dpreview.com review, Luminous Landscape review – all praise this new camera, and the concepts introduced by Sony in the A55 seem to be a winning formula.
Soon I will start watching B&H for this new camera.

I think articulated screens suck: less space for the display and lower reliability. The other features sound cool though.
