Ok, so now it’s 19 days since I last wrote on the blog. I have a few hundred photos waiting to be processed and uploaded, still  a lot to write about the trip to Paris, a few interesting happenings in Bucharest, and yet I haven’t written anything. Not a single word.

I am actually ashamed about this. I do hope that the coming Bestfest will change this. Or at least the virtual dust settling on my files will. If not, the soonish trip to Vama Veche might.

So, if you regularly check the silence on this blog – stay tuned.

Versailles – visiting the gardens

IMG_9903.jpgIn the established tradition (he he) this is another post and photo gallery put online with a pretty big delay. I suppose people got used to seeing my travel posts long after returning home. I hope people will not complain too much (hint: like they did regarding my previous post).

But let me get back to the subject: a beautiful visit to the Versailles palace and gardens. Versailles is the old ‘de facto’ capital of France, and now one of the top tourist destinations for people visiting Paris. For anyone staying a few days in Paris, doing a short (or long) day trip to Versailles is a very good idea.

Orange – nou magazin online si concurs de feedback

Ieri a fost lansat noul magazin online Orange. Pe langa cateva functionalitati noi si un design cred eu reusit, a fost lansat si un “challenge” pentru oricine vrea sa faca o sugestie, sa atraga atentia asupra unui bug sau a unei disfunctionalitati. Initiativa – un fel de public beta test – este o idee buna si care arata transparenta.

Primele impresii, ale unor oameni de online, sunt deja publicate pe site.

Si pentru ca o parere buna si utila trebuie rasplatita exista chiar si un concurs:

  • scri un text cat mai descriptiv
  • il incadrezi ca bug / sugestie de imbunatatire
  • iti completezi datele personale – adresa de email si numar de telefon
  • poti castiga un premiu, pe baza deciziei juriului

O initiativa chiar reusita!

back from Paris, and first week at work

IMG_9741.jpgAs most of you already know my short holiday to Paris came to an end on last Sunday. Although now I am back to Romania, you should still expect to receive short bits on Paris and most importantly pictures from there. There were different reasons for which I was not able to blog on-the-go so now I will try to compensate.

If I haven’t already said this – Paris is an amazing city. From all the places I have visited this is the most crowded city in terms of interesting, fascinating, places to see and visit. Every step brings the traveler to a new monument, church, square or at least a nice cafe.

flight offer: Finnair to China for less than 400 euro

Found a pretty good offer to fly to China (Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong) from Finnair for 1655 ron, which translates to 396 euro. The offer is a special deal, so it is available only to June 3rd. The biggest problem though is that in summer China can be pretty hot. These days Beijing enjoys a scorching 37C.

Having said that, the price is pretty hard to beat…
